Today's clamming adventure was a great success! The students had a great time and managed to get nice and dirty! Hopefully they brought home a few clams for the rest of you to enjoy!

Tomorrow is HALLOWEEN. Your child may bring their costume to school as we won't be changing into them until noon. If you signed up to bring a trick-thank you! We would like to have them by noon!

On Friday we will be having our TOY SALE. We already have some toys and could always use more!! We will be pricing Friday morning, so please make sure that they are here-thanks!

Great job on using your pumpkins to figure out some Math questions today, grade 3! They turned into some great looking jack o' lanterns!

A detailed letter went home this week outlining all of the events and dates, but here are a few reminders!!
Please make sure that your permission slips are in for our clamming trip on Tuesday. Make sure that you come dressed properly on this day and definitely wear boots! We will be going at 10:00-11:30. Thanks to all of the parent volunteers who will be taking us over. Let's hope for good weather!

On Wednesday afternoon, we will be having our Halloween party. Parents have volunteered to bring in snacks, cookies,etc. It would be great if they could be here before noon, a note went home with your child today about this. Thank you!

We are planning on having our toy sale next friday and using the money to purchase things to fill a Christmas shoebox- this will have to be done before the 11th. We have some toys, but need more!

Welcome Back !
It's a short week, but a busy one!
The class is bringing home a Math sheet to finish as well as a Social Studies activity to complete and bring back tomorrow. There is information about this in their social studies duotang. They will not have a HWF this week, but instead will be given short nightly assignments to finish for the next day.

The students are studying about New Brunswick in SS. They will have a short map quiz on the major cities, and should know where to place them on the map (they do not have to know how to spell them!)

Picture retakes are tomorrow on the 18th.

Have a Great Long Weekend!!

Congratulations to Grade 3 for getting their noodle jar half full already! Today the class watched their movie and had popcorn. When the jar is completely full, the class won't have any homework for a week. Mrs. Brown is going to have to get a bigger jar!! Way to go guys!

Reminders:
. No school on Monday and Tuesday (Teacher meetings)
. Wednesday Oct. 17- Picture orders are due
. Retakes will be Oct. 18 (Please return proofs and write a note if you want your child to have retakes.)

Just a few reminders for the remainder of the week.

Grade 3-5 will be going on Thurday (Oct 11) to take part in beach clean up (weather permitting) I still need a few permission slips sent in and please see that they wear proper clothing on that day (older would be better), they will also need a bagged lunch.

Your child will have an individualized spelling list this week. These are words that that may have had wrong on past Fri. tests, in their writing journals, or have asked help with spelling during the past few weeks. Please have them practice the words this week. They will work with a partner for their test on Friday.

The Terry Fox Run was a great success and the students enjoyed getting out on this beautiful day. We walked on the field for 20 minutes.
The HWF should have been handed in today, so no homework this weekend!
Just a reminder that Picture money should be in by Oct. 17, it can also be handed in directly to the office. We are also missing a few permission slips for the beach clean up next Thursday.

Please remember that HWF are due tomorrow (Fri). We want to be sure that all the students receive their stickers to earn their "Free Homework Pass".

The class will have their spelling test tomorrow-look for a note in their agenda explaining the new spelling procedure that we will be doing in class.

Thanks to the parents that have brought in toys. We have a lot, but still not enough! No date as of yet, possibly next week.

Please make sure that your child is reading something each night. Many students write the books that they read at home in their agendas and copy them into their reading logs here. They receive a sticker after every 3 books read. Way to Go!!

The students received their Homework folders today and we would like to have them returned by Friday since there isn't school on Monday. Please play the subtraction game a few times this week with your child as the extra practice with their facts would be a great help! Please keep the baggie of Math questions at home, as they will have other games to play that will use those cards. Thank You!



Friday we will participate in the Terry Fox Run here at school, please send $1 with your child is you haven't done so already.



Drama will be tomorrow (Wed) after schhol at 3:00



We will be practicing for evacuaation tomorrow. Grades 3-12 will be returning to school and dismissed at their regular time.
